Berzerkers or World Eaters?

I finished listening to the Butchers Nails audio book and then watched the Avengers yesterday, so today I just want to assemble Berzerkers.

Step 1 - Research

Hit up Google for images of Berzerkers and than look at Codex Chaos Space Marines for artwork

Then look through my favorite book The Horus Heresy Collected Visions for ideas.

O and I listened to The Butchers Nails

Lets now look at chaos God Khorne

We know that Bronze or Brass is the metallic color of Khorne which means that Berzerkers trim will be Bronze or Brass.

Khornes motto is ``Blood for the Blood God and Skulls for the Skull Throne``

Which means that Berzerkers should have tons of skulls and trophies & trophy racks.

We also know that World Eaters are gladiators, so combat blades and close combat weapons are there friends.

Step 2 - Your Image or Idea

Your Idea or image of Berzerkers are they World Eater Berzerkers or Chaos Space Marine Berzerkers from some other chapters.

Now that I have an idea lets see what we will be working with.

So open up your Berzerker Box and what do you see World Eaters or Chaos Space Marines that turned to Khorne?

I see Chaos Space Marines that turned Khorne.

When I first saw this box I was like Yes Berzerkers! and now that I have 20 more Im like Ber..zerk...ers?

We know from the Butchers Nails that World Eaters have there weapons chained to their wrists and that the Imperial Fists that fought alongside the World Eaters also chained there weapons and that they formed the Black Templars.

Step 4 - The choice

World Eater Berzerkers or CSM Berzerkers?

Codex Chaos Space Marines pg. 36 shows Berzerkers with Chaos Space Marines heads

Are your Berzerkers wearing armour from different Space Marine Chapters due to heavy damage or no time for proper repairs?

(there are a ton of other ideas that im not covering or even considering)

Step 5 - Build your Idea into reality

Berzerkers (Chaos Space Marine) 

try not to give each Berzerker the same weapon. (the same Chainaxes and that bolt pistols)

I dislike the Berzerker heads in the box so I use the Chaos Space Marine heads

Berzerker heads (cut off the Khorne parts)

I also think that if you use the Chaos Space Marines bits it will help your Berzerkers look less static.

World Eaters (Pre-Heresy- Hersey Era)

World Eaters artwork is very white and without armour decoration

World Eaters are one of the last Legions to change there color scheme,  if I remember correctly

Black Templar arms

Tactical Space Marine legs and some torsos (Assault Marine running legs and the torsos may also work)

Berzerker torsos will work also if you shave off the Khorne Icons (Chains)

I use Space Wolves heads

Forge Worlds power armour Mark IV, V, VI  looks good too.

When painting don't forget the blood splatter

Some modeling/ conversions options that I use:

shooting two bolt pistols

2 CCW

throwing a grenade

holding head of dead enemy

combat blades

eldar or other swords

converted Chainaxes

praising Khorne

Paint or Die Day 2

I entered the Paint or Die challenge with Chaos Space Marines and that means by June 2nd, I will need to have built and painted 750pts and after that 1100pts will be due by July 14th.

Day 1 
I made several lists and final just made a list that would have a low model count while painting units I would use.

A break down of my unit choices.
HQ - Dark Apostle hes a lord w/ PW so far I chose to make him for the converting and kit bashing.
Elites - 10 Possessed Word Bearers, haven't any of you read or listened to Know No Fear?
Elites - 5 Terminators (o gezz, what should I paint these guys as?)
Troops - 10 Word Bearers I love there fluff need I say more...FLUFF
Troops - 10 Berzerkers (Heresy Era) I basicly wanted to convert these models and I have 40 of them best reason of them all.
Troops - 7 Plague Marines they can sit on my home objective and live, Ok u caught me I need to get away from painting Red.
Heavy Support - Defiler Cool model, dear Dark Gods why so many parts, what have I done?
Heavy Support 3 Obliterators I want to convert these models because I think I can do a better job then GW
Heavy Support - 5 Havocs, well on of my friends fields 2 squads w/ 4 Reaper autocannons in each and kills  with them so I want to try it out, besides Space Wolves cant spam autocannons.
The Reaper Autocannon is The Weapon of Chaos Space Marines... it says old...Lol
  
Day 2
I have assembled 5 Possessed Word Bearers and 6 Chaos Space Marine Word Bearers and started my Dark Apostle but I don't know what to equip him with besides the accursed Crozious, I may magnetize his other arm.
Revised my list.
My 750pts that I am doing for the June 2nd dead line are the Dark Apostle, 10 Possessed and 10 Word Bearers and the Defiler thats 740pts

Other Updates
I assembled 10 Chosen and now I am wishing they were part of the challenge I would be one step closer.

Paint or Die! I entered

So I went to my GW today and I was asked to join the Paint or Die Competition.

So I got the guys to convince me to join, my friend wanted me to finish my foot Guard and one of the employees suggested that I should finish my Space Marines and the other my Nids because he was doing his and so was a new customer.

I on the other hand wanted to do power armour and since the only list I am interested in doing for Space Marines is Rhino heavy and since I am missing a few of them I decided to do the next best thing Chaos Space Marines.

At the store the only list I was interested in painting up was 6 squads of 20 Chaos Space Marines foot slugging it to the enemy and there HQ which of coarse is awesome! but not points smart, it would have to be 2000 points!

I bought the Chaos Space Marine battle force, I mainly got it for the 5 Possessed and the Rhino for my Loyal Space Marines, Traitors don`t get rides...

As you can tell I don`t take Chaos Space Marines seriously, I mean why would you listen to a traitor?

Its that or I am way to into the Word Bearer Fluff of them just marching to their deaths.

O and I am not playing with this list just painting it, it doesn't have enough of foot slugging to be playable for me.

Alrighty then, I have been away for quiet a while assembling 40 Genestealers and 20 Gargoyles and 3 Raveners that will do that to you.

Well now I`m back to painting.
I bought the new paints and well I`m at a loss I bought the paints to try out on my Brettonian Knights,
I don`t like the new blues compared to the old ones, They are lighter and cover less.
I diden`t like the old meatalics and so I moved on to Vallejo Air. The new metalics are a bit better then the old ones but there texture is worse, so I am happy my with Vallejo air paints.

Besides that I love the rest of the new paints, I love there simplicity, and the Mephiston red rules for my new test model blood marines and Naggaroth Night is fun to say.

I also like that its a full color line, love the purples, pinks and the greens and the TEAL, yellow is probably my favorite improved color, I like the white its the best improved paint by far, but I still will paint from grey to white to get the shades, so its no biggy for me.

The Army that snuck up on me

My Space Marine Chapter the Blood Marines, a chapter I created the color scheme is red, purple and teal and I have been trying to paint 108 space marines out of the 700 something not including 12 dreadnoughts and tons of vehicles, so I took a break and jumped to my Chaos Space Marines the Word Bearers even more red.
So I'm painting a lot of Red.

So I took a break from that too.

I went on to building models like my Bretonnians which I enjoyed assembling and after I was finished I decided that it would be fun to build some more I got out the first boxes of unassembled models and there were my favorite fluff units the Genestealers, Gargoyles and my fave looking tyranid the Mawloc and Trygon and now the Raveners and the new Hive Tyrant kit.
So I guess I am playing Nids Now!
Here is my list so far its based on the Tyranid Vanguard Invasion in the Apocalypse book on page 147 and my current play style: spamming speed and only using my favorite units.

My Favorite 40K units

I have been noticing that my desk is full of minis that I love but why do I love them?

Some of my favorite units...

1. Dreadnoughts all variants, I love converting these and magnetizing them and I own 9, now 10 Chaplain Dreadnought (converted) Next week I plan on buying some more...

2. Daemon Prince and Daemon Princes. I own 3 and am converting 1 using the Ghorgon/ Cygor kit

3. Avatar of Khaine and the Wraithlord bad@$$ in the game

4. Harlequins, I want to paint these... its like painting for the soul...enough said....

5. Trygon and the Mawloc loved building these. I own 1 of each, if only the rest of the army was this fun to assemble I would have so much fun painting them, on that thought I still need a color scheme (Help)

6. IG Sentinel or the Flyers, Sentinels u ask because their like Dreadnoughts...Bigger Dreadnoughts...

7. Exorcist this tanks a looker

8. Storm Raven, looks B e a u t i f u l, I want to paint one! GW add it to the Space Marine Codex pretty please. I`m not above begging and if you say no I may just paint one anyway.

9. Nemesis Dreadknight? I love and hate this model because it makes my Dreadnoughts look small, but converting it to a running pose was fun
I want to face a Grey Knights player so I can bring my Dreadnought list against him, for the only reason that i would aim all my Dreadnought at it and watch it go up in flames.
I want to see it suffer and the overkill may make me happy again.

10. Monolith why u ask, because if I buy one u may not see or hear from me for a year, I want to paint so much on that thing, I may start with painting it liquid gold or maybe freehand first, oh the painting options are endless

11. Honour Guard why because they look and paint amazingly.
I have never played them but I still have them very high on my assemble list.

OK well as you and I can tell I love them mostly for painting reasons except the Dreadnoughts I have no clue why I love them maybe its their fluff or look or everything, my Precious?

So you may notice I have stopped painting, its because I have so many models to build.

Here is an example: I want to assemble and magnetize all 18 Honour Guard, I want to assemble my 1850 Tactical 5 lascannon spam list and there five Rhinos. 

Oh and you may have heard I started a Word Bearer Warband and its a foot slogging list lot o marines and conversions and ideas.

I have so much on my plate and I have recently simple greened my first dreadnoughts so I want to paint all my dreadnoughts that is ten so far maybe 12 by next week.

I have finally chosen a color scheme for my Blood Marines here is a Assault Marine.

Nurgle tried to tempt me next with his Plague Marines and promises of victories without death.
I answered ``I rather allow all my Catachans to die needlessly!``
Before you leave you should know I ordered Forge World Death Guard! Amazing Minis Chaos God.

Tzeentch called on me next with promises of power and sorcery and mentioned something about his Thousand Sons or something I wasn't listening.
I replied with a tired and annoyed voice ``leave me haven't the Space Wolves crushed you enough or would you like to sample so of mine?´´­


While brushing my teeth I thought Who was next to come ......Dr.WHO?....
 Eldar, Tyranids maybe the Phase Two Necrons, I would Like to kill some of those Metallic Tomb Kings.
Maybe start to collect a tomb kings army and paint it silver and play then as Tomb Kings and Necrons.
I would make any deal to get New Sister of Battle models anyone? anyone at all? no Gods want to take part in that deal?

I got back from brushing my teeth and my light was out in my Imperial bedroom, my cat ran out hissing but then again she doesn't like me anyway.
I walked in the room and my lights didn't work, so I got ready to go to bed in the dark.
The room was darker then normal, then a voice with hidden power spoke, his movements quite but for his dark cloak rustling.
I thought him the Reaper floating in my room.
Greetings Chosen one, you have been visited by four Chaos Gods this night, what a honour that is.
